Yunis had always been fascinated by gems. As a child, he spent hours poring over books about precious stones, studying their colors, shapes, and the way they sparkled in the light. When he grew up, he decided to turn his passion into a career, and he became a gem expert for Saphirine Jewelry.
In 2016, Yunis was sent to the Columbia Exchange, a global hub for gem trading, to negotiate a deal for emerald gemstones. The Colombians were known for producing some of the finest emeralds in the world, and Yunis was eager to see what they had to offer.
